And there's no shortage of variety in today's list, either. The fastest-growing jobs in America right now, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, offers a nice mix of professions — some surprising and others that you could probably guess.

But onto the list! These are the top six occupations in America that have the highest projected percentage increase for this decade (2020-30).

1. Motion picture projectionist (70%)

If you've ever been to a movie theater, you have a motion picture projectionists to thank for the smooth and uninterrupted projection of the film. In the wake of a global pandemic, people missed spending an afternoon or evening at the movies and returned in droves when mandates across the country were lifted.

2. Wind turbine service technicians (68%)

Do you enjoy fixing things? Are you an advocate of renewable energy? Can you stomach daunting heights? Wind turbine service technicians install, maintain and repair those sky-high renewable energy machines that you see scattered about the country. With climate change being a serious issue, it's no surprise that jobs that help maintain the machinery required to generate renewable energy are projected to grow.

3. Ushers, lobby attendants and ticket takers (62%)

With everyone scratching their travel itch after two years of being locked down, we can see why these hotel service professions are growing so rapidly. Ushers, lobby attendants and ticket takers make sure that your check-in and check-out go smoothly, so you can enjoy your trips to the fullest.

4. Nurse practitioners (52%)

We're glad to see nurse practitioners on the list of fastest-growing jobs — their role in society is so important. They help keep the rest of us healthy so that we can get back work, our families and our lives quicker. Burnout is a real problem across many industries and occupations, but especially in healthcare. There will always be a need for nurses.

5. Solar photovoltaic installers (52%)

Or more colloquially, solar panel installation. Solar photovoltaic installers affix these renewable energy devices to roofs and other structures to generate and store solar energy. Like the wind turbine technicians, it's not surprising to see renewable energy-related occupations on the rise.

6. Cooks, restaurant (49%)

Restaurants consistently got the short end of the stick the past couple of years, but things are gearing up again. Much in the same way that people are flocking to theaters and shacking up in hotels, they're also returning to restaurants.
